Romantic Tropical Wedding at Valentine DTLA

Flowers, Weddings & Events

A sweet Los Angeles couple celebrate at their romantic wedding holding a tropical cascade bouquet full of dahlias, garden roses, protea, and blushing bride protea.

Bellamy & Nick’s wedding was our first ever at Valentine– one of the fabulous Marvimon venues, and while we’ve done many here since, this one was too good to keep to ourselves!

Despite the fact that it fell into the pandemic time vortex and actually happened many years ago. Oops!

Magnolia ceremony garlands decorate the aisle at Valentine, the perfect sun lit greenhouse wedding venue, in Downtown Los Angeles.

They kept the ceremony design simple and leaned into the lush tropical greenery that fills every single Marvimon venue and THRIVES. If only my houseplants could look this good!

We did add some fun magnolia garlands AND a few really amazing aisle markers in vintage copper vessels to the tropical ceremony design.

The stylish couple recess up the aisle after their ceremony- she carries a modern tropical cascade bouquet and he wears a tartan suit with a bold red boutonniere.

That just married moment is always, always a favorite photo, and Victoria Gold captured it perfectly.

The Bride and bridesmaids pose for a wedding portrait with their tropical bouquets held in front of their faces- the bridesmaids wear dresses in shades of green and they all stand against a teal wall.

This bouquetinfrontoftheface is usually my signature move, so of course I approve. I loved the couple’s choice to keep the wedding party bouquets entirely white and green tropical, and save ALL the shades of sunset, scarlet red, and drama for the bridal bouquet.

Our couple share a sweet a twirling first dance moment at Valentine in DTLA.

We’re always here for the twirling- especially since our couples are just so damn stylish. That dress. His suit. The perfect, bold boutonniere.

The wedding party hold modern tropical bouquets with white florals. In the other photos- the ceremony space at Valentine in DTLA is decorated with magnolia garland and large aisle pieces featuring monstera, dahlia, and anthurium in vintage copper vases.

Tropical wedding party bouquets, magnolia garlands, and large tropical aisle arrangements added color, texture, and style to the tropical space.

Bellamy’s large tropical cascade remains a favorite- it featured a large protea, local dahlias, garden roses, and tropical greenery.

Our groom's boutonniere features a red ranunculus, thistle, and orange wax to match his tartan suit.

Nick’s boutonniere featured a bold red ranunculus, orange wax, a blue thistle, and a little copper wire to tie in the copper details throughout the event.

A stylish little wedding party walk.

Tropical boutonnieres with custom name tags feature coral and red ranunculus, with accents of thistle, tiny tropical air plant, and wax.

And how cute are these custom boutonniere tags and that copper accent?

Tropical wedding reception centerpieces in vintage copper vessels of various shapes and sizes makes for a unique, textural, and bold reception design in shades of pink, coral, orange, red and white.

Wedding dogs FTW. We love it that so many of our couples incorporate their fur babies.
And those wedding party bouquets aren’t bad either.

The reception details were so good- bold reds, tropicals, and lush local blooms all came together to perfectly compliment the amazing reception space at Valentine. The vintage copper vessels were provided by the groom’s mom, and every single one was unique. We LOVE a good vessel and truly think it elevates the entire centerpiece, so we were thrilled to design in this beautiful collection.

The 3 tier wedding cake is decorated with ranunuculus, garden roses, blushing bride protea and tropical greenery in shades of red, coral, orange, peach and blush. tropical greenery and bold red and coral flowers

And this cake. I still love it so much after all these years. The fresh cake flowers, the fluff, the sugar, and the gorgeous green wall! Delicious!

A bold welcome arrangement featuring protea, red dahlias, anthurium, kangaroo paw and other tropicals in a vintage copper vase.

This welcome arrangement and THAT vase perfectly set the tone for Bellamy & Nick’s unique, tropical, and romantic wedding.

Tropical boutonniere's in sunset shades of red and coral are styled on a large monstera leaf.

We always love to see the creative floral flat lays, and loved how Victoria styled these fiery boutonnieres on a giant monstera leaf.

A tropical arrangement features King Protea, bold and colorful floral details in shades of red and orange, and a decadent cake with fresh florals.
A modern tropical cascade bouquet featuring king protea, peach garden roses, red dahlias, and tropical greenery like monstera, areca palm and more.

The king protea, local garden roses, and ranunculus definitely stole the show, but really I just love how bold, warm, and unique this tropical design turned out.

Love love love the trompe l’oeil here- doesn’t it look like her bouquet is part of the wonderful wall mural?
