How gorgeous are these two?
And since we can’t officially celebrate their leap year wedding anniversary for another 2 years- here we go. Happy Second Anniversary Dian & Kenny! 😜
And here is Dian’s beautiful modern cascade bouquet. It features orchids, tulips, mini-callas, ranunculus, tiny kumquat cuties, and fragrant tuberose, lilac and orange blossom.
Scent is such a powerful memory trigger and I LOVE incorporating it into wedding work- in just the right amount of course.
Which brings us to the cutest photo ever! I was so thrilled to see ALL the beautiful photos Miki & Sonja captured, but this one is definitely a favorite.
This veil by Julie Harris Designs needs its own moment though. Sigh. 😍
The gorgeous invitation suite by Bella Figura + ALL the citrus and citrus-hued blooms.
A beautiful bridal portrait- The Ebell of Los Angeles has SO many amazing spots for portraits!
And a super stylish groom!
Love love love Kenny’s whole wedding look.
The cutest baskets for all the flower children.
And flowers for all the family & friends.
Again, the cutest.
The Lounge at The Ebell of Los Angeles is absolutely stunning, and a dream to flower! We created two large foam-free arrangements featuring olive and eucalyptus to flank the altar, and lined the the aisle with large & airy arrangements of greenery, delphinium, and dahlia.
Love a casual amount of greenery. 😉
These organic & textural greens are the perfect contrast AND compliment to this room. Also, those windows. 😍
I know I said the bouquet sniffing was my fave…but this photo is ALWAYS a personal fave, and Dian & Kenny’s recessional does not disappoint.
For their reception we created a few different styles of centerpieces: large & low floral pieces, fresh hand-laid greenery, bottles and bud vases, AND these large elevated pieces that are full of textural greenery and accented with birds of paradise- a bit of nostalgia from Dian’s childhood.
I love a meaningful DIY, and how Dian & Kenny chose to highlight Black love by featuring some of their favorite couples in place of table numbers.
February is the perfect month for fresh mimosa and ALL the winter citrus.
A mix of centerpiece styles, late winter/early spring flowers, and textural greenery brought the dining room to life at The Ebell of Los Angeles.
I mean, look at this star. She *almost* stole the show.
But then this happened.
The end.
Perfection.
It was so much fun to work with Dian & Kenny, Dian’s Mom, Jeannie, and of course, Renee of Moxie Bright Events to bring all this magic to life.

MODERN TROPICAL WEDDING INSPIRATION AT THE MODERN, LONG BEACH
In 2017 I decided to create the work I wanted to be doing.
So I asked my friend Renee of Moxie Bright Events if she’d like to collaborate on a minimal, modern, and elegant re-imagining of the “greenery” trend taking over the interwebs
(all. that. garland.) and she came on board.
The rest is history. And hard work. And talented collaborators. And lots and lots of tropical greenery, with nary a garland in sight! 🙂
Enough rambling though, check out all the modern, minimal + tropical magic we created at The Modern in Long Beach:
While these elevated centerpieces are black-tie ready, the acrylic escort cards I designed (with calligraphy by Chasing Linen) add a playful element to the table.
We incorporated acrylic details + simple greenery throughout- in this beautiful invitation from Happily Ever Etched…
You’ll also see acrylic details in the table number, and later, the ceremony design.
Texture and tiny details FTW.
These donuts from Mwokaji Cakery are almost too pretty to eat. Almost. 😉
And a closer look at those escort cards. I created three different leaf styles, but the mini monsteras are definitely my fave!
Beautiful table top from Borrowed Blu with styling by Renee! Oh! And dip-dyed napkins by yours truly.
So simple, so perfect.
I still love this ceremony design so much, from the simple gold pipe arch, to the giant tropical leaves, (no floral foam heeeeey) to the always fabulous Ghost Chairs.
A quick close-up of those floating monstera leaves! Acrylic trianges FTW, again.
And a few more delicious sweets!
Real talk: I’ve done at least 3 real weddings as a direct result of this shoot, for which I’m super grateful. So if there’s something you want to start doing (or get paid to do) hurry up and get started! And if you just want to hire me to bring ALL the giant tropical leaves your direction, get in touch right here!

ROMANTIC LIBRARY WEDDING AT CAFE PINOT
Happy Anniversary Elizabeth & Trevor! I can’t believe it’s already been a whole year since we celebrated your wedding day at Cafe Pinot in DTLA!
I loved creating Elizabeth’s bouquet in a neutral cream/blush palette full of fresh local garden roses from Grace Rose Farm. My whole studio smelled delicious!
These two were so much fun to work with, and they really took the time to enjoy their wedding day (and ride that giant slide at Oue Sky Space in all their wedding finery.)
Love that!
Some first look magic at The Bonaventure.
And talk about #babes- this photo of Elizabeth and her bridesmaids is one of my faves.
So many beautiful (sparkly) details.
And these sparkly shoes b/c post-wedding dancing SHOULD be taken very seriously!
Little man stole my signature move, but I won’t hold it again him.
More sweet things.
And maybe THE sweetest thing. I love when I get to know my couples’ family and it was so much fun to have Elizabeth’s mom and sister join us on their flower market tour during the design process.
The lineup.
These two! 🙂
I had a lot of fun creating this library card catalog seating card set-up- Elizabeth & Trevor chose a different movie quote for every single guest!
They combined their love of books with movies and so I created these custom film reel table names to help guests find their seat.
Happy Anniversary Elizabeth & Trevor! I hope your first year of marriage was fun + fantastic just like you two!
