Kyle & Jordan’s Citrus Sunset and Desert Inspired Wedding at The Ebell of Los Angeles

Our couple share a kiss in front of their large scale floral installation at The Ebell of Los Angeles full of citrus-toned and sunset-inspired flowers like King Protea, Banksia, Air Plants, Orchids, Dahlias, Scabiosa, Amaranthus, and Rose!

Our inspiration for Jordan & Kyle’s floral design was classic California with a citrus twist – aka where the desert meets the orange grove.

We leaned into bold floral choices, organic garden style blooms, and both textural and tropical accents in a sunset sherbet palette of blush, peach, coral, and orange to bring this large scale floral installation to life on the steps of our favorite historic venue, The Ebell of Los Angeles.

You can see it right? It’s a modern desert chic + citrus mashup…and it’s magical, and magically captured by the oh-so-talented Brett Loie Photography.

There was also a *very* special guest of honor…

This California citrus-inspired wedding at The Ebell of Los Angeles had it all, including our couple's dog, BlackJack, and the cutest Winston & Main floral details like this flower child basket adorned with greenery and spray roses.

Meet Kyle & Jordan’s dog, Blackjack! Naturally, he was the star of the wedding, and had the best seat in the house (see below) to watch his dads get married! This sweet pup came with his own entourage, posed with our blooms, ran down the aisle to his dads, and observed the entire ceremony from the comfort of his dog bed.

WE love love love a wedding pet and Blackjack did not disappoint. He was also a huge hit with the flower child, who carried this adorable floral accented basket of petals.

These cuties!  😍

The Ceremony Floral Installation

The large-scale floral installation by Winston and Main at The Ebell of Los Angeles grows on either side of the ceremony space and contains King Protea, Banksia, Air Plants, Orchids, Dahlias, Scabiosa, Amaranthus, Protea, Rose and more.

Incredible, whimsical and magical ceremony floral installation by Los Angeles Floral Designer, Winston & Main, for this California wedding at The Ebell of Los Angeles contains King Protea, Banksia, Air Plants, Orchids, Dahlias, Scabiosa, Amaranthus, Protea, Rose and more!

We love to create large scale and site specific installations, and The Ebell of Los Angeles has so many great areas to do that! I don’t think we’ll ever run out of ways to create completely unique ceremony designs here.

For this floral installation on the stairs outside the art salon, we used a wild and organic mix of King Protea, Banksia, Air Plants, Orchids, Dahlias, Scabiosa, Amaranthus, Garden Rose and more! It was lush, textural, and dripping with blooms on either side of the veranda where Kyle & Jordan wed. This detail shot from the ceremony installation is a forever favorite- all the texture, the fluff, that phalaenopsis orchid.  😍

Blackjack, our couple's dog enjoys an immersive floral ceremony installation by Los Angeles Floral Designer, Winston & Main, for this California wedding at The Ebell of Los Angeles.

We always recommend that you create a few high impact or experiential floral experiences for your guests, instead of spreading your flowers (and budget) all over the place.  No one will remember bud vases in the bathroom, but this installation? And wedding pet superstar Blackjack? Core memories unlocked for sure!

Wedding Party Details

Two grooms in colorful custom suits are surrounded by their wedding party- everyone wears or carries flowers from Los Angeles Floral Designer, Winston & Main.

Whimsical and textural bouquet and boutonniere in shades of cream, peach, coral and orange full of ranunculus, dahlias, spray roses and banksia.

A floral flatlay of a modern wedding invitation surrounded by textural florals in shades of cream, blush, coral, and yellow dahlias, ranunculus, spray roses and amaranthus from Winston & Main.

Back to the details! Personal flowers were so fun on this one- the wedding party bouquets were lush and organic and featured textural banksia and scabiosa combined with fluffy garden roses, ranunculus, and dahlias. The bouts were each a little different, and featured either a ranunculus or rose with textural accents in shades of blush, peach, coral, and orange. We love how the sunset palette really stood out against the dusty lilac dress/tie/pocket square.

And we reeeeeally lucked out with all the dahlias for this fabulous floral flatlay in late October! Aren’t they just every shade of perfection?

These are some of my favorite Winston & Main boutonnieres ever! They’re full of so much texture & whimsy in our very satisfying citrus palette with unique accents like air plants and thistle.

I love watching our clients surrounded by so much joy and community on their wedding days. It’s magical every single time!

We love these cute cocktail arrangements + simple bud vases full of mono blooms for cocktail hour. Here we used dahlias in shades of peach and burnt orange, and scabiosa pods, raintree pods, and sumac for a textural moment.

Romantic Tropical Wedding at Valentine DTLA

A sweet Los Angeles couple celebrate at their romantic wedding holding a tropical cascade bouquet full of dahlias, garden roses, protea, and blushing bride protea.

Bellamy & Nick’s wedding was our first ever at Valentine– one of the fabulous Marvimon venues, and while we’ve done many here since, this one was too good to keep to ourselves!

Despite the fact that it fell into the pandemic time vortex and actually happened many years ago. Oops!

Magnolia ceremony garlands decorate the aisle at Valentine, the perfect sun lit greenhouse wedding venue, in Downtown Los Angeles.
They kept the ceremony design simple and leaned into the lush tropical greenery that fills every single Marvimon venue and THRIVES. If only my houseplants could look this good!

We did add some fun magnolia garlands AND a few really amazing aisle markers in vintage copper vessels to the tropical ceremony design.

The stylish couple recess up the aisle after their ceremony- she carries a modern tropical cascade bouquet and he wears a tartan suit with a bold red boutonniere.
That just married moment is always, always a favorite photo, and Victoria Gold captured it perfectly.

The Bride and bridesmaids pose for a wedding portrait with their tropical bouquets held in front of their faces- the bridesmaids wear dresses in shades of green and they all stand against a teal wall.
This bouquetinfrontoftheface is usually my signature move, so of course I approve. I loved the couple’s choice to keep the wedding party bouquets entirely white and green tropical, and save ALL the shades of sunset, scarlet red, and drama for the bridal bouquet.

Our couple share a sweet a twirling first dance moment at Valentine in DTLA.
We’re always here for the twirling- especially since our couples are just so damn stylish. That dress. His suit. The perfect, bold boutonniere.

The wedding party hold modern tropical bouquets with white florals. In the other photos- the ceremony space at Valentine in DTLA is decorated with magnolia garland and large aisle pieces featuring monstera, dahlia, and anthurium in vintage copper vases.
Tropical wedding party bouquets, magnolia garlands, and large tropical aisle arrangements added color, texture, and style to the tropical space.

A portrait of Bellamy's large tropical bridal bouquet which features protea, dahlias, garden roses, and blushing bride protea as well as tropical greenery, monstera and pepperberry in shades of blush, coral, red, and white.
Bellamy’s large tropical cascade remains a favorite- it featured a large protea, local dahlias, garden roses, and tropical greenery.

Our groom's boutonniere features a red ranunculus, thistle, and orange wax to match his tartan suit.
Nick’s boutonniere featured a bold red ranunculus, orange wax, a blue thistle, and a little copper wire to tie in the copper details throughout the event.

A stylish little wedding party walk.

Tropical boutonnieres with custom name tags feature coral and red ranunculus, with accents of thistle, tiny tropical air plant, and wax.
And how cute are these custom boutonniere tags and that copper accent?

The couple's sweet dog looks on with the wedding party who hold white tropical bouquets.
Wedding dogs FTW. We love it that so many of our couples incorporate their fur babies.
And those wedding party bouquets aren’t bad either.

Tropical wedding reception centerpieces in vintage copper vessels of various shapes and sizes makes for a unique, textural, and bold reception design in shades of pink, coral, orange, red and white.
The reception details were so good- bold reds, tropicals, and lush local blooms all came together to perfectly compliment the amazing reception space at Valentine. The vintage copper vessels were provided by the groom’s mom, and every single one was unique. We LOVE a good vessel and truly think it elevates the entire centerpiece, so we were thrilled to design in this beautiful collection.

The 3 tier wedding cake is decorated with ranunuculus, garden roses, blushing bride protea and tropical greenery in shades of red, coral, orange, peach and blush. tropical greenery and bold red and coral flowers
And this cake. I still love it so much after all these years. The fresh cake flowers, the fluff, the sugar, and the gorgeous green wall! Delicious!

A bold welcome arrangement featuring protea, red dahlias, anthurium, kangaroo paw and other tropicals in a vintage copper vase.

This welcome arrangement and THAT vase perfectly set the tone for Bellamy & Nick’s unique, tropical, and romantic wedding.

Tropical boutonniere's in sunset shades of red and coral are styled on a large monstera leaf.
We always love to see the creative floral flat lays, and loved how Victoria styled these fiery boutonnieres on a giant monstera leaf.

A tropical arrangement features King Protea, bold and colorful floral details in shades of red and orange, and a decadent cake with fresh florals.
The king protea, local garden roses, and ranunculus definitely stole the show, but really I just love how bold, warm, and unique this tropical design turned out.
A modern tropical cascade bouquet featuring king protea, peach garden roses, red dahlias, and tropical greenery like monstera, areca palm and more.
Love love love the trompe l’oeil here- doesn’t it look like her bouquet is part of the wonderful wall mural?

Tracy & Zak’s Bold Wedding at the Ebell of Los Angeles

A wedding portrait of the couple at the historic Ebell of Los Angeles, featuring a modern cascade bouquet full of bold phalaenopsis orchids.

Tracy & Zak’s wedding at The Ebell of Los Angeles was bold, moody, bright and dripping with style (and flowers)! Aren’t they perfection?

The couple shares their first kiss under a bold and lush wedding arch full of peonies & garden roses, created by Los Angeles florist Winston & Main.

A moment of silence for this ceremony design please. Our signature floral palette- full of jewel tones, moody hues and pops of peony (that’s a color right?) was a perfect fit with their retro-modern style.

This is a classic wedding arch, reimagined to bring the drama, color, and luxury- exploding with pink peonies, red garden roses, phalaenopsis orchid, dripping amaranthus and more. More is always more, and we LOVE a large scale floral installation here at Winston and Main.

A bold and textured trailing bouquet created by Los Angeles florist Winston and Main, featuring pink orchids and red garden roses.

Jason Q Tran captured this perfect bridal bouquet portrait, and when it landed in my inbox, my jaw dropped. There *might* have been tears.

It is truly one of my favorite photos of any of my floral designs. Ever. It definitely puts the “fine art” in fine art florals and makes my heart so happy- the perfect Dutch Master’s painting!

Two photos, the first is a portrait of a bride holding a luxurious cascade bouquet in bold jewel toned flowers. The second is of the couple posing together, highlighting the groom's vibrant boutonniere.

The couple sharing a kiss on the steps of the Ebell, and the bride holding a bright luxury bouquet designed by Tabitha Abercrombie of Winston & Main.

These bold and moody jewel tones are a VIBE, and the more we create with them, the more they get requested.

Create the work that makes your heart happy friends- I guarantee there are others out there who will resonate with what you do, and then you’ll get to do more (and better) of what you love.

I am always so grateful for our wonderful clients and all the beauty their trust, vision and collaboration makes possible.

A large scale floral installation on the staircase at The Ebell of Los Angeles features peonies and garden roses in bold jewel tones. In the second image- a bold welcome arrangement greets guests next to photos of the couple.

This large-scale floral installation on the stairs at The Ebell was such a showstopper, and made for some amazing and bold aisle flowers. Talk about a grand entrance- this installation was the first thing guests saw when they entered the wedding ceremony space, and also made for a dramatic walk down the aisle.

I always recommend a few larger WOW floral moments, over lots of tiny flowers everywhere. Make a statement, and include a staircase installation whenever possible- so many options, and SO many beautiful flowers. And then on the welcome table? Even more bold, lush, and dramatic jewel toned blooms.

A stunning portrait of the bride in front of an amber wall as she holds her modern cascade bouquet full of orchids, peonies, and garden roses, in shades of pink and red by Los Angeles florist Winston & Main.

Tracy’s colorful modern cascade bouquet is one of the most unique I’ve ever designed, and I LOVE how it turned out and how perfect it was for her. Vintage Hollywood glamour!

Two images of the couple's wedding ceremony, the first showing the groom waiting for his bride at the alter with a bright floral wedding arch behind him. The second is during the ceremony of the couple standing in front of the large floral arch and under beautiful and ornate chandeliers.

The Ebell of Los Angeles is full of unique historic details and dark wood, which makes it the perfect backdrop for bright, bold, and dramatic floral designs.

It’s always so fun to get photos back and check out all the different wedding day perspectives- Zak waiting for Tracy to walk down the aisle with a wall of gorgeous blooms behind him? Amazing. And that bolo? Best groom style ever!

I also love how this  ceremony shot through the historic chandeliers lets you see the scale of our ceremony arch, and shows off how we mirrored the beautiful arched windows behind it.

The couple smiling at each other as they walk back down the aisle after their wedding ceremony surrounded by large, colorful aisle arrangements.

This is always one of my favorite photos- that just married JOY is the best! And JOY surrounded by beautiful wedding flowers- even better.

An image of a sweetheart table, with the freestanding ceremony arch, dripping with peonies, orchids, and garden roses, repurposed behind the table.

The ceremony flowers repurposed to the sweetheart table is ALWAYS the move. Dinner + reception photos surrounded by the entire dark & dramatic garden FTW.

And check  out these elevated foam-free centerpieces- they’re dripping with jewel-toned orchids, dahlias, roses, delphinium, amaranthus, and smilax and elevated on a gold Harlow stand.

I promise you can ditch the foam and deliver more sustainable luxury- your clients, the earth, and your flowers will thank you!

Hello, dahlia!
Bold, bright, moody and unexpected jewel-toned wedding flowers really shine in The Ebell’s reception space.

A white five tiered wedding cake decorated with contrasting pink orchids and red garden roses.

Mic drop for this five-tier beauty of a wedding cake Flouring LA. Wow. Wow. Wow. What a dream to add cake flowers to this beauty.

Two images of this couple enjoying their wedding day, first by cutting their 5 tier wedding cake with fresh florals and secondly by sharing a romantic first dance in front of their ceremony arch..

Serving up cake, joy and sweetness.

A snapshot of this couple dancing in their retro-modern style wedding at the Ebell in los Angeles. As well as an image of the couple doing the horah at their wedding reception.

How much do you love that solo first dance shot?

The hanging floral installations on the chandeliers, dripping with smilax and orchids, the lush jewel-toned centerpieces, the photo booth sparkles, the stylish couple- pure magic. Seeing everything come together so beautifully on an event day is truly like magic and we are so thrilled to be a part of it every time!

And that Hora + Tracy’s wardrobe change? EPIC.
